In this course we explore ways to use painting to connect with your inner-self to support emotional well-being, self-compassion, self-worth, self-expression and personal insight.
This course is carried out in a safe environment and in an ethical, and supportive manner.

Learning Objectives
Use art to explore and express emotional, cognitive, and somatic experiences
(eg. sadness, anger, joy, fear).

You are not here to create a beautiful painting or to demonstrate your skills; the goal is expression and exploration.
​
You will gain new perspectives and problem-solving skills through artistic exploration.
​
You will understand that art is a safe space where we can experiment, take risks, fail and learn to fix our mistakes - building resilience.
​
Through art we generate many ideas - so when things go wrong, we have other ideas to fall back on.
​
Something might not work out exactly as you planned. But, analysing what you did, experimenting and playing can lead to new insights and help build confidence to try again.

Nothing is set in stone; we can change or re-start at any time.
​
You will realise that painting can take our minds off things, making space for artistic expression, based on our own emotions, while leaving the world outside.

You will develop tools to reflect on personal creative processes and develop self-awareness and emotional regulation; maybe you’ll continue at home or at a follow-up class…
