New Painting

New Painting - “Jane and Munkey”. I always admired Jane Birkin, a fragile, complex and passionate woman, multi talented actress, and loving and playful mother of three amazing girls. Right after her death in July, I read her book “Munkey Diaries”, in which she pours her heart out to her stuffed toy, by telling her intimate thoughts, from her childhood years into adulthood. The diaries made me feel very emotionally close to Jane, and so I decided to paint her to pay homage to her memory and soul. Here she is with her forever confidant “Munkey”.
